Newcastle considering move for out-of-contract Man City talent – The Telegraph
The likes of Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers and Liam Delap are just three players who’ve left the blue half of Manchester and gone onto to become players Pep Guardiola wishes he could call upon.
And if recent reports are to be believed, we could be the next to benefit from another youngster leaving the Etihad.
Newcastle linked with James McAtee
According to The Telegraph’s James Duckworth, we are one of a number of Premier League clubs interesting in signing Man City midfielder James McAtee; who is out of contract in 12 months time.

The 22-year-old has been fighting to break into Guardiola’s first team plans, and has recorded seven goals in 25 appearances in all competitions this season.
However, the youngster faces an uncertain future at the club, who are looking to bring in a new no.10 in the near future, with Morgan Gibbs-White and Florian Wirtz both on City’s radar.
This isn’t the first time we’ve been linked with the England U21 star, with Paul Mitchell credited with an interest via The Mail’s Craig Hope back in January.
Who else is interested?
For a player as talented as McAtee, we’re going to face stiff competition if we want to bring him to Tyneside.
Duckworth lists Nottingham Forest and Bayer Leverkusen as having the strongest interest in McAtee so far, whilst ourselves, Manchester United, and AC Milan are monitoring developments.
Of these teams, Forest and Leverkusen would have the advantage in any negotiations considering they own the aforementioned Gibbs-White and Wirtz who Pep craves to bring into his side.
The right fit for Newcastle?
It remains to be seen what type of right-sided attacker we target this summer, but McAtee ticks some boxes in terms of his age, potential, ability to cut in on his left foot and contract status, which could see him leave at a cut-price fee this summer.
Additionally, he is also versatile, showing his ability to operate as a number 10 both this season and during a loan spell at Sheffield United last term.
Howe is a manager known for helping players realise their potential: with Guardiola often overlooking McAtee, we could be the perfect springboard for the player to truly become one of the acclaimed players like Palmer, Rogers and Delap have become in recent years.
